About MWA
Meet the Ceo and meaning behind MWA
My name is Tamia Broadwater, but sometimes I go by the name Misunderstood, and I am the creator of MWA. Growing up, I was inspired to become an entrepreneur as I watched my father and grandfather build success off their own businesses. I aspire to own multiple businesses and share my artwork and story to millions of people. My goal with MWA is to open my own art gallery, host various events such as sip and paints, fashion shows and more.
MWA is more than just a business or brand, it's a movement and is very special to me. Since 2012, I've been battling depression and this brand was an outlet for me. The meaning behind MWA is to show people they are perfect just the way they are, we are all works in progress and no obstacle is too big to overcome. MWA is a family. I want anyone who can relate to the feeling of lacking confidence, struggling with loving themselves and discovering what their purpose is to know that their time is coming and it's going to take time. Your life starts with you, so put yourself first. This brand was the start of the breakthrough that I needed and I want to share it with the world. I want everyone who supports and purchases from my brand to know they are free to reach out to me to talk whenever they need someone. I am a positive, kind and non judgemental creator and that's what I want my brand to reflect. No one should ever feel alone in this world.
It’s more than just art. It’s love. It’s a support system. It’s a safe place to be yourself. Think of MWA as a sanctuary. A place where everything is beautiful, judgement free... filled with love, care, support, confidence, accomplishments being acknowledged and no negativity can get in. A place, a space, a mindset where you can be free and unapologetically YOU.
